Information for Participants

If you’re thinking of getting involved in my research that’s great news! Below is some information you need to know, and don’t hesitate to Contact Me if you have any questions or concerns. FAQs

If you choose to take part in my research you will either be invited to take part in a one-to-one interview or a discussion group (or both). During the interview or discussion group you will be asked a range of questions about your thoughts and opinions in relation to issues of how the sexuality of women and girls is portrayed in mainstream media. You may be asked to look at and answer some questions about images that I will have brought with me. If this is the case, rest assured that the images will not be explicit in content, but will be typical of images we see in mainstream culture everyday.

Your involvement in my research will be kept strictly confidential and all references to you will be made anonymous when I come to write up my research.

If you change your mind about being involved in the project that’s absolutely fine. You have six months from the date of our interview or focus group to advise me that you wish to opt out and have all your data destroyed.
